Types of activity

The Latvian Knee Surgery, Arthroscopy and Sports Orthopaedics Association (LCASA) fulfills its mission through the following activities:collecting and maintaining information database about various national and international standards in arthroscopic surgery, evaluation of the suitability of such standards to the situation in Latvia and offering opinions about regulatory issues;facilitating contacts between the members of LCASA and foreign researchers focussed on arthroscopic surgery, practicioners of arthroscopic surgery, and students in this field;organizing continuing education and advanced courses for arthroscopic surgery professionals;organising scientific conferences, seminars, presentations and other events of interest to arthroscopic surgeons;publishing periodical and non-periodical scientific articles on the topics of arthroscopic surgery;establishing award and scholarship foundations for arthroscopic surgeons;publishing popular science articles on arthroscopic surgery;participating in other professional societies of arthroscopic surgeons and physicians;keeping statistics about the development of arthroscopic surgery;organising an Ethics Council for reviewing ethical issues related to the work of arthroscopic surgeons;participating in the creation of financial, technical, and legal framework for the practice of arthroscopic surgery;providing theoretical and practical assistance to all interested institutions;performing commercial activities.
